A little while back, we announced we were working on adding a few more layers of security to texture uploads through the Closet to put an end to texture theft once and for all.

I'm happy to report that work is now complete, and already live on Production.

All textures in the Closet system now have this additional security, and anyone attempting to re-upload textures that have already been uploaded by someone else will be automatically reported to World Operations.

i think for the user its hassle. they have to port out to try, then port back to shop more at niche. from the designers perspective they will be thinking, ok do i have uvd banners where the user can tbyb but they port out and i might not see them back at niche again. or uvc banners where they can tbyb and still be in the region to shop more.

after I tried it on, I can see the quality of the texture nicely. But really with the mark all over, you dont really want to wear it as your wedding dress

we have finally released our try before you buy feature here at uvd.

jsut a few pointers before you all go rushing off to use it.

1) the feature lasts for 5 minutes. once you have clicked on the "try it on" button on the designers catalogue entry, the entry wil be place in your mystyles wardrobe with a timer placed above it.

from here you can apply to avatar then click on the send avatar button to view in world.

2) all outfits will be watermarked for security purposes and to avoid abuse incase a user wants to change outfits every 5 minutes lol

once the 5 minutes is up, the outfit will turn pink or if you change region

(pls be aware that cacheing may still show you in the outfit, or in that fact to others in the same region. but anyone knew who appears will see you as pink)

3) there is a switch for all designers to choose wether they want their items to be available for try before you buy.

this is in your advanced options (hover mouse over the uvtstyle catalogue link and click on advanced options to activate/deactivate feature)

feel free to go crazy with this feature.

and problems feel free to email us via the support channels.

when uploading a texture file larger than 500k uvd displays the same error message (bad request) i ws getting trying to upload a cat pic larger than 500k. is that a glitch u think. coz before u would get the error message about it being over 500kb bla bla bla.

just had a thought. if uvd wasnt around, there would be no way of selling fully functional legacy skins in rlc. legacy outfit sales would probably coming to a near halt.

i went to secret city. they have the uvc system set in place but its not fully intergtated. their is no main catalogue so its either via shop or designer page to find the clothing, plus there is a disclaimer saying its only in test phase and if anything goes wrong its not their fault.
