well to explain... i have written the UVD.hta tool. which is in use by about 2400 people

my avi page is pretty much blank now, except for any .gml that were in there previously

An open Explorer page is reused... the page is needed to be able to jump back and forward between UVDeviant and your Avatar page.

it allowed putting on outfits with single click and predates the new beta closet

so do we need to have both of those pages open already?

based on that tool i was invited to write the conversion tool

or it will just automaticly connect to those pages if we dont have windows or tabs opened for it already?

ok I had uvd and uv tabs open already, I just didnt kow if that was part of the process that users needed to be logged into both of those at once or if only one tab or window was open

see here is the issue... even if the tool is from UVDeviant... would you allow it to sniff cookies directly from hidden folders

so here is the issue... how to open essential 3 webpages

this program does that by lifting on a current connection... so it does not know your password and or account

it just tells you to log in.. and if it detects that the browser is at the correct page it fills in the blanks, read the outfits in a hurry

and .. we hope that faced with the alternative of having to do this all manual.. as in . apply an outfit.. look for codes.. copy the code.. go to UVD claim page.. fill in the details.. press OK.. go back to next item.. copy the code.. to to UVD claim page... etc

that this 4 buttons is .. like much much quicker

well last week i used a slight different format... based on silverlight... the only trouble was that it did ask specific for the username password stuff... and that was deemed too sensitive... hence i am a little behind with porting the fun part stuff

like sorting the closet by name or any field

let me explain.. you might want to save that tool

a HTA is really an HTML Application.. sort of webpage in a single file

as you know RLC wants to reduce the load time... and that means reducing the total amount of images that float around

take skins.. many people have the same skin... yet at each club you might have to download the same skin maybe 10 times simply because the RLC client does not recognize that from the different name

yup got that concept clear

at the same time UVD wants to better protect clothes against casual sharing of codes

so lockdown of "uvtexture" drop box... no more pasting, no more codes in fact except for designers when uploading a file

hence this two pronged change all at once... unique personal codes will be converted.. and avatar page will no longer allow to alter UVD stuff

so the big secret is we just roll back all generated codes to their daddy

now many have rightful paid and are proper clients of designers that for all sorts of reasons shared mastercodes too

(and catalog codes, even, it's where it gets very complicated on my side)

however that would not do it since that would require everyone to redo all outfit and combinations...

the uvd part i thought it would be easy... i more freak out about the potential scan and update of profile saved outfits, built with both master and catalog codes, original or shared too...

this could be sort out in a parallel claim.. it's where i think the claiming tool should not be limited to mastercodes

firstly ... if you are gifted anything... that should have a code that is yours.. so conversion is easy

say I sold kelstan a torso skin code that I bought from a designer in uvd

now what happens if ... that code fell of the truck somehow

he has MY code that I purchased

and arrived at 50 others...

cause it was nearly an official business process during a period to buy your own outfits and resells your generated codes lol...

since it still contains your id in it.. it will be converted for you

in fact for me only

but not for another user

i suggested M to "auto grant" any request for a catalog code showing the designer ID as both seller and customer

however those 50 others will get a message suggesting that such item does seem to belong to someone else.. and it will not be saved... so. .in effect after the gates close... it will become pink

these are outfits grabbed by their own designers and distributed

hmmm... well tonight lets just look at the first part of the program..

aha ok I think I understand, when they go to sync with this process, the generated codes from uvd that arent really purcxhased by that user thorugh uvd will not be converted and they will get a message prompt telling them that

i like to hear how the login worked... and if it got to correctly figure out how many slots you have free.. (has to have at least one to work) and if all your outfits made it to the list

i couldn't see all the outfits in the window, but it did tell me that i had 0 slots left

which will be a problem in over 50% of cases

a LOT of designers keeping on with "in game selling" used to buy their own outfits, get a generated code, and sell it, just to protect the master one

well lets face it that ... hmm exact figures are not known.. however lets assume that maybe 50% of the people is all proper, does the right thing etc.. .they will not have a single issue

they should have kept sales recods if that was how they did their business

maybe 40% of the people has by mistake or some sort of glitch some error.. most will be solved

would be nice to track how many codes out there didn't belong to the user that had them

its to catch this 10% of purposeful intentional thieves.. i know a few.. they have no trouble selling there codes for a few rays

btw.. for the coders ... in normal write in c ... i special did this in vb.script because every grandnanny and child seems to be able to read it

my only concern now is why i have master codes in the claim system that i had generated codes for

remember what happens if you enter the transport

it freeze regularly ... if you enjoy reading packet... you should see the flurry of data send back and forward of each person entering

say there are 10 people in a club.. the 11th enters...

now 10 people will send all their codes to that one person

and that one person will cause updates of all items on his or her current outfit to each of the people

so that makes large places with many people laggy...

it gets worse if people pm you also.. that is yet another connection that needs to be established

RLC would be much quicker if everyone was naked and silent

or with decent servers, like any game with a 20$ membership

so... this 'handshaking' becomes more with each person added

now what happens then is that the RLC client goes and looks to find for the textures

same as you enter a new zaby... it knows it is a wall or sign.. yet it does not have a texture downloaded yet

this i understand totally, catalog codes couldn't stay forever as making infinite copies of the same files, so yes the lag would get worse and worse

but it basically doesn't change the dynamic engine of the game... i arrive in the club, if nobody is currently wearing my outfit or skin, they will all update still

and same for me, i will load them all

and it would be good if all same textures would also really be the same... as same name... that is why the move is to no longer have unique codes... it means if 10 people have the exact same skin from the same designer: it needs to be cached 10 times instead of 1time

and to make matters worse

the current idea to prevent "cache lifting" which is easy for anyone with medium computer skills... is to kill the file from the computer as quick as the browser closes

hence the default in zabies for "Session Caching" both for clothes and textures

which means... if you bet booted... you have to load it again

wouldn't help a lot... as long as your ingame, you can raid your cache folder and take anything, it would need a real encryption by rlc no?

so now RLC has all locked much of that

most people however will have a fair bit more than 3outfits in their avatar.. and have clothes from many people

the process of claiming is almost instant...

to line up things in claim system yes, but until the designer aproves or deny, what happens...?

as in my tool will claim the codes.. its get oked... and saved.. next outfit...

only if anyone has a "oops this did not come from the shop" those outfits will need to be oked by the designer...

the profile outfit gets "locked" like it will need the rollback again when all textures are declared legally purchased, or user will have to rebuild it... in the end, same frustration among users, that's my fear

and some designers have no records.. so they will most likely blanket ok...

designers, i only worry for all the ones that sold catalog codes to keep selling in game

as i understand it, scan and update doesn't impact mastercodes already in use, that's cool

ah.. ok i finally get what irks you =) ok... this tool ONLY deletes the outfits if there is NOTHING wrong...

so imagine you have this outfit with 43 stolen clothes...

it will look extra red on the screen of this tool with a fair bit of.. ooh ooh ooooh ooh oooh

however you can keep it on till RLC closes the images

and it is not yet clear when that will happen

for as far as outsiders is concerned... the tool will simplify the change... if they do not like to use any tool... then they need to redo the closet by hand... if they allow the scan and update it should be done and over with in minutes

let's say i only think the "filtering" of catalog codes when scanned should be designed to the end of customer

cause there was really a time when desigenrs did that, and spread that word as a selling process, personally my butt is safe, but i try to think about the impact on a comunity, and the consequence for uvd, not a bunch of outsiders

most people will not feel much of this change... it gets more difficult if people have nicked items..

and yes... i have personal in my closet a few codes directly from designers

now ... as external programmer... so i have no shares in UVD ... one reason why they put the mastercodes out

then there is some wonderful new things to ponder about... like the move to obj files from RLC allows not only designers to look at it in 3Daz etc... we might as well have a local pc tool that shows you each outfit as you put it on

yummy, you talking about designing a nice UVD openGL soft...?

then there is load so integration possibilities of the UC system with such offline tools... greatly simplifying the current dance of Closet to UVD to avatar page

well the trouble at the moment is the hidden GML layout of the legacy outfits

sorry I wasnt watching my time earlier today and had to leave quickly. So I'm testing out version 0.93, I'm logged into UV edit avi page in one tab, logged into uvd beta wardrobe on another tab. I go through the appropriate clickings of the process, my UV tab goes on its own from edit avi page to uvd mastercode claim page, click step 3 and goe sback to edit avi page, click step 4 and I get "Now we run the conversion... provided it is coded * sounds of fast typing in the background as large and complex looking code gets cooked *

after I do this and log in world the avatar that is applied is a train wreck

the skin that was applied when I logged out which is not a mastercode is noo longer applied, the clothing I had on the avatar when logged out which are not mastercodes are no longer applied and replaced with rlc stock clothing and skin

makeup and hair which are my own codes as in my own designs are still applied but I have a second hair mesh on now

items in world closet apply as normal, textures with saved mastercodes sold from designers in world apply as normal

so there is my report on Conversion 0.93

that version however was just testing the succesful triangle setup between RLC, UVDeviant and yourself. The next step will be iterate through the outfits and replaceing them...

yw I just wanted to give you a run down of what my experience with the steps were so far

how is the text.. at what part did you have questions.. or how 'easy' was it to be persuaded to log in

well at first I was not logged into my beta wardrobe but I WAS logged into UVD

so one of the steps

had me log into beta

its super easy if you can read haha

and.. if i may ask the question... would you feel comfortable if the tool would ask and safe your input

its a beta... and i plan to simplify the screen by employing xhttp to talk to the converter site

so that info will not show in the final.. and besides.. maybe we do not need the cookies at all

yes... however this is the nature of beta programming... at least that is how i have worked since long time back... in later beta versions it logs a lot less..

as we receive many accusation of storing user's UV information, people without programming knowledge will easily misunderstood with the term

simply because with the logging and with all the debug stubs in place i can find errors in minutes instead of hours

i'm still not clear about when the users will use this to convert their codes

and i understand the sensitivity, i read the forum.. half of the people there have no knowledge of anything... just shouting... only few from the forum have a grasp of the overal task and complexity

second function of the tool is to read all the generated codes from user's style wardrobe, and then let your tool to read them in their UV saved outfits, and then to replace them with 1 single mastercode

so I purchased a slot just to have 1 empty one

your tool did count my own mastercode too, but the number 14 is exclude my own mastercode (if include my own mastercode, it was found 23)

well that is why we have two seperate methods as discussed earlier.. i still scan in this tool.. however the autoclaim should have put in those codes

can you copy paste the tool screen? its html so you should be able to easy select and paste it

i have not heard a lot more on testing... yet here is a LIVE AND LOADED version... as in seems to go correct through my avatar closet and replaces all generated codes with mastercodes and claims them

Disclaimer... although it appears to work excellent... i DO stress that unlike all other versions you have tested.. this one is one way only... as in i have no way back to generated codes

i further did a small speedup of the reading process... cleaned up some code and variable use.

Takes about 1.5 second per outfit in a cycle of load, decide if action is needed, interact with UVD, store the updated outfit, delete old if it was properly stored, apply next if it was properly deleted

it should bail out at the moment if somehow it does not properly delete, if you run out of slots, if it is not properly stored

okay so I checked outfits in world and it all works. The saved slots are reversed now, so like if I had slot one named AAA to ZZZ it would be reversed to start with ZZZ to AAA so it did do something. Thing is when I look at something on the edit avatar page and look at the codes, they are all the same. Nothing changed at all. So if a master code is UMUT_MU0555.png it is still the same. It is not replaced with a UVD code.

ok so the last tool that I tested worked to a certain point, and seemed to be working, however I just looked now at the things it did go through

and the codes that I had purchased like normal from uvd

have now been converted to what the master code is

which is kind of the opossite of what it should be doing since the master codes its scanning should be turned into generated codes

and not the generated codes turned into masters

hey guys, I'm just talk to M now. I didn't know that his code converting the generated codes from wardrobe into Mastercode. I'm sorry for the confusion, I guess there is a lot of langauge barrier going on here. In this version of tool only help users to claim mastercode into their wardrobe. There should be no conversion of generated code into mastercode in this stage (except the generated code by the designer themselves aka UFUT_designerID_designerID.png)

but this sends the option of uvtexture to the form field that is now hidden.

Sug: no, coz the QA server is different than the normal RLC server, and UV is really hard in giving answer

don't need to test the textures, just how the edit avi page would act with the drop downs locked or gone

we will need a new API closet access to their QA profile, I dont think this request will be entertained anytime soon

so till we get the link working between the program and the UVD site there is no real way to know that ... might happen in next versions

ok so I'm just going to report back on this as I've never had this happen and it could completely be coincidence, but I hadnt logged in world since last night..so during all the testing etc I had never logged in

when I tried to earlier last night it took forever to load rlc, when I would finally get to a point of log in I would get "could not initialize avatar"

I went to my edit avi page and manually clicked to apply an outfit and tried to log in world again

"missing avatar information"

I tried to run a repair and got a prompt that sain "cannot run repair!"

finally I uninstalled the entire rlc client and reinstalled, tried to log in and "Incorrect avatar information. Please try again"

so again back to my edit avi page to completely reset avatar and try to log in again...finally after waiting ages and ages and ages...which is not normal for me at all

rlc always loads fast and almost instantly, but finally I was able to get in world, get to my in world closet and it seems that things are applying fine now minus the fact I have to reload everything again...now I'm not saying its the claim tools fault at all, I'm just reporting as a tester what has happened when something like that has never happened to me ever before

and since I'm the only one with xp as an operating system and Sug and Jarvis were able to get in I dont know if it was that either...again it could be completely the timing of UV as well, I dont really know

a repair is a more generic gml issue

I have just received respond from Utherverse that they are going to implement the new login authentication system within 1-2 weeks. If we are unable to release this tool before they do, we will have to rewrite the login part of the tool

i have left the code in place yet inactive for calling any page that might do the claim per outfit, much like the convertpage, yet without the alteration of the outfit

it has been succesful run on xp, vista, win7 ... we could clean it by removing all the debug stuff and launch it
